It is our policy that an understanding exists that when hiring goods they are returned to us in an undamaged condition. The goods are therefore the full responsibility of the customer until they are returned to us. Please return all hired products immediately after use - all products returned more than 2 days late incur a cost at half the hire fee of the product per extra day.
Shepherd & Woodward reserves the right to charge for repairs to garments that are returned in a heavily soiled or damaged condition. If a repair is not possible the customer will be charged for the full price of the garment. The replacement price for a damaged top hat is £70.
We provide insurance at a cost of £9.99 per outfit which is available at the time of order. This order does cover accidental damage or soiling, but does not cover loss or theft. All of the above prices include VAT.
We understand the reliability of the Great British weather, and should the heavens open whilst you are out and wearing a suit all we ask is that they are allowed to dry naturally on a hanger away from excessive heat. Please do not attempt to repress the suit, and so just return to us as is. We include the laundering price of dress shirts in our hire price.
Due to the rapid growth of children we recommend all children's hire is fitted between three and five weeks before the event.
Proof of Identity
Proof of identity and address is required before the collection of all hire orders.
Checking Your Order
It is the responsibility of the customer to check that all garments after collection meet their satisfaction. In the unlikely event that the garments do not meet your satisfaction, please notify us immediately and we will do our best to rectify the issue.

Please give the following information when ordering by post:
- Collar size
- Chest Size
- Waist size
- Inside and outside leg length
- Hat size if required.
