At Shepherd & Woodward we think it is important to be able to reflect your personality and style in what you wear. If you are looking for a suit for a wedding or another important event, it can be frustrating when you simply can’t find what you have pictured in your mind.
That’s why we have created our Etch Custom Suits offering, which allows you to create the perfect suit that is unique to you; ensuring comfort and confidence throughout the day. In a nutshell, a custom suit is one that is chosen ‘off the peg’ and modified with your preferences.
(Just to clarify, this is not our made-to-measure, or a tailor-made offering.)
If you are the kind of person who pays great attention to detail, then our Etch Custom Suits will not disappoint. Or, perhaps you just want to make a few bold and eye-catching changes with minimum fuss? Either way, this service covers all bases.
What is the Etch Custom Suit process?
Step 1 – Call us to make an appointment, or drop into the shop. At this juncture we will ask you about the occasion to which the suit will be worn, allowing our team to guide you accordingly.
Step 2 – We provide swatches of the cloths/patterns that are available, so that you can choose the material and trims that you would like for your new suit.
Step 3 – We then encourage you to try on size samples so that we can make adjustments accordingly.
Step 4 - Following this, we discuss how to refine your suit. For example, choosing the lining of your suit or the colour of the under collar melton - you can have this area embroidered. It's not on show, but you know it's there, and a wonderful surprise for your spouse…!
Step 5 – We address the customisation of your suit; discussing whether you would like any additional changes to reflect your personality, such as contrasting buttons, embroidery, contrasting threads etc.
How long does it take?
The Etch Custom Suit process takes around 6-8 weeks to complete, with prices starting from £349, depending on the style of suit and cloth chosen etc. You will be contacted by a member of staff when your suit is ready to try on. We are confident that as you have been so involved in the process from beginning to end, the final product will be fantastic.
